Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken
Why eat take out with limp vegetables and lukewarm noodles when you can come home to this easy and tasty slow cooker Sesame Chicken! (adapted from familyfreshmeals.com)
Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken
serves 4
In a small bowl mix together the following ingredients:
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Set aside: 3 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 3 tablespoons cold water.
Place 2 pounds frozen chicken breast fillets (or fresh chicken breasts) into the slow cooker, pour the sauce over top.
Cook for 4-6 hours on low.
Remove chicken from the slow cooker with a slotted spoon. Pour in the cornstarch mixture and stir into the remaining liquid. Place lid back on the slow cooker and cook on high for 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
While the sauce is thickening - cook your side dish - i.e rice, steamed vegetables, noodles.
To serve, place the chicken on the plate and pour the sauce on the chicken and over rice/noodles.
Option: make a double batch to store in the Burger Master for an even quicker meal. Just remove frozen portions and reheat in the microwave or on the stove.
