Chicken Cordon Bleu Burgers
OMG - I was not prepared for how delicious this Chicken Cordon Bleu Burger was!
I tested this recipe on my husband, but when I smelled and saw the final product I immediately made another one for myself.
The flavour of the chicken patty is delicious on it's own but when you add the crispy fried ham, velvety melted swiss cheese and creamy garlic mayo - I guarantee you will be thrilled with the result.
Ingredients
Yield: 8 quarter pounders
- 3 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 pounds ground chicken
- 2 tbsp herbed bread crumbs
- 2 tsp grainy Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- pinch black pepper
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 slices thick cut deli ham
- 8 brioche buns
Creamy Garlic Dijon Mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup store bought mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp grainy Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp parsley flakes
Directions
- Combine the ground chicken with the breadcrumbs, mustard, worcestershire, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- Spread the mixture into the bottom tray of the Burger Master and store in the fridge or freezer until ready to cook.
- While the chicken patties are chilling prepare the mayonnaise by mixing together all the ingredients. Refrigerate until needed.
- Ham can be fried ahead of time. In a non stick pan fry the ham slices in 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil until crispy. Set aside.
- Add more vegetable oil to the pan, fry the chicken patty 2-3 minutes on each side.
- During the last minute of frying place 1-2 slices of Swiss cheese on top of the patty and cover the pan.
- Toast the buns, spread the garlic mayonnaise on the bottom bun, top with one slice of crispy ham, then add the patty with melted cheese on top.
- Top with lettuce and tomato if desired.
- Enjoy!
